Supply chain management software is a group of software applications or software suits that is used by a business to manage its supply chain. Supply chain includes all stops between the provider, or source of products, and the end customers. It involves purchasing, manufacturing, warehousing, transportation, customer service, demand planning, supply planning and supply management. As the supply chain is a complex process from the beginning when the business collects raw materials to the end when the end customer receives the product, business use supply chain management software to control and manage the entire process. Supply chain management applications are used to maintain each major components of supply chain such as- planning, sourcing, making, delivering, and returning. Each of these components may need one or more supply chain software to be managed. However, that is why it is not often possible to purchase one complete package of software for fulfilling all the needs of every company.
